far, far away from civilization. Meadow Krstenica and virgin snow.

I left Logatec really early and needed two hours just to get to my starting point, meadow Podkuk. It was still dark when I started walking and fog was so thick that I bearly saw my shoes. After one hour I was already on the last meadow Razor surrounded with beautiful mountains. From there I headed towards my destination, Vrh nad Škrbino. The path was covered with snow, so I did not follow the marked route and chose the shortest line to the top instead. The summit itself is the start of the ridge Peči and offers a beautiful view on peaks around Triglav, Bohinj lake, Karavanke, Kamnik Alps and mountains in Italy. After quick snack on the top, I started my way back to the meadow. From the top I followed beautiful ridge, that spiced my hike a little bit. After approximately one hour I reached ruins of Alpine wall. Alpine wall was a system of fortications along Italy’s northern frontier built in the years of WWII.
From there it was just an easy walk towards my starting point. All in all a superb hike.

We took advantage of good weather and the last day of vacation and visited Dleskovška plateau and summit Deska. Nice.

the highest summit in Kamnik Alps. I had it just for myself last friday. Gorgeous view from top and a lot of fresh snow on the way to the top.

Probably the most wild bivouac in Slovenija, with amazing view on Prisank, Vršič, Špik, Škrlatica, … There is no marked path that would lead to bivoauc. You have to climb some steep mountain streams, cross big scree bellow Škrlatica and climb a vertical chimney, before you can enjoy the silence in this comforting shelter.
I left Krma in dusk, a great song from Kings of leon (Woo hoo) was echoing in my head . I knew that is going to be a great day.
It took me almost two hours to get to Bohinjska vratca. And then dissapointment. My so wanted destination, Mišelj vrh, was covered in clouds. I crossed my fingers, hoping that the weather would get better and descended to Velo polje. I jumped across a few streams and I was already on the meadow bellow Mišelj vrh. I can not describe with words the beauty of this totally unspoiled piece of land. It is like you would literally step into the past. Wooden houses, that are sadily falling apart, silence, the surrounding, …. Unforgettable.
I left the meadow and turned towards Mišelj vrh. It was not long before I reached the final part, that involved steep scree and some climbing towards the top. Unfortunatelly I was not able to appreciate the view, that Mišelj vrh is offering, due to the clouds and fog. But nevertheless I was satisfied. Very satisfied.
I am always searching for secluded paths in our mountains, where I can really enjoy in silence while watching the nature. And this weekend I really hit the jackpot.
I visited Pihavec, the moutain in Razor group. It is situated above Kriski Podi plateau and right in the middle of the highest mountains in Julian Alps. Pihavec is connected with Bovški Gamsovec over the ridge, that also look very wild and must be a very interesting climbing route. Only one marked and secured route leads to the summit from Kriški Podi, but this was not my route.
I decided to ascend from Luknja over the south east side. Since there is no marked path and even almost no trace of humans, this really is untouched and wild part of Julian Alps. You just try to follow the most logical way to the top. The path also offers nice but easy climbing.
I descended over marked route towards Kriški podi and since I still had some time, I did not turn right towards my starting point. I followed a path towards Stenarska vrata and then ascended Križ. From there it was a nice descend towards bivouac IV and then to Vrata.
A really nice hike.
