Just a perfect day

I could say it was an ordinary saturday, but that would be a lie. It was a perfect saturday. Morning climbing in Gorje was followed by swimming in Bled. After that we had a nice picnic, where we filled our empty stomachs.

Here are some photos (by Meta).

Climbing in Dolge njive

Since friday was packed with outdoor activities and the weather forecast for saturday was promising, we decided to go climbing. The destination was climbing area near Nova Gorica called Dolge njive. It is a small area that offers some nice routes and a view on green Soča. We were feeling quite good and it is interesting that when you feel good about the technique and strength, climbing feels more like dancing.

After we had our fun and the hands were starting to hurt and getting red, we headed off to the coast. The plan was to soak our sore feet and hands in the cold water and drove to traditional Osmica at Jakomin in Kubed. It was a nice way to finish a perfect day.

If there is no passion in your life, then have you really lived? Find your passion, whatever it may be.

It has been almost a year since I last held a climbing rope in my hands, used a quickdraw, … I almost forgot how great if feels to climb, to feel the satisfaction when you succeed in climbing a new route.

This time it was indoor climbing, for the first time. It was great.

Next time, climbing on a natural rock (I hope).

“Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping… waiting… and though unwanted… unbidden… it will stirr… open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us… guides us… passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love… the clarity of hatred… and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe we’d know some kind of peace… but we would be hollow… Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d be truly dead.” Joss Whedon
